Quilt top for Diego
Originally uploaded by Big Sister.
I made another quilt top last week. This one from the second volume of Ursula Reikes baby quilt series. It's based on the W block. Of course I say that like I know what that means, but really I am just repeating what I read in the book. Perhaps there is a quilter's wiki out there?
Aaaaanyway, I am madly in love with this quilt top. I think there is something to the color combination that must be soothing. The monkeys and the stripes were from stash so hurray for that. Not everything is lining up perfectly just yet, but there is a distant glimmer of hope that someday I might get this right.
Crafting abounds around my house. More photos and FOs (and a six word memoir) soon.
Looks great!

Very cute! I think your quilting has nice combinations of color. Must remember this pattern for baby gifts!

Blue + green = happy! (at least in my book). Your quilt projects are inspiring me to get back to my sewing machine. So pretty!

The colors are so soothing. Great choice! My points never line up, i'm not a perfectionist so it never bothers me. Good Luck**

You are seriously tempting me. Is my mother putting you up to this because she is working VERY hard to get me to quilt. She even got Purl in NYC to start selling fabric. She's a powerful force...maybe I'll give in. They look beautiful, but I doubt I can do anything that pretty.

ugh. i stopped making quilts years ago because i felt like i was so awful at it. what's with you and all your good book recommendations making it seem accessible again? like i need another craft-related object to stash.
don't you understand that this is going to cut into my knitting/spinning/embroidery time?
and WHY did i just realize that i could incorporate sublime stitching embroidery templates into quilts?
GRRRR!
(cute quilt, by the way...)
