Thanks for your good wishes! It worked!
After waiting at the passport office for 2+ hours the kind agent in a John Prine t-shirt told us that our passports were on their way to our home. We hopped in a cab and beat them there by about 90 minutes. Hurrah! I predict smooth sailing from here on out.
Back in a couple of weeks. Mwah!

Twelve weeks seems the norm - not the original six to eight we were told. For a renewal for our son, it took exactly! twelve weeks to get in the mail. And now, some restrictions have been lifted... Glad you got yours b/c/ you really needed it! Happy travels
