circle of friends

That is not to say that there was no joy in knitting my part of this Circle of Friends blanket. The knitting was a breeze, actually. I knit it on a few bus trips and a day in the park. However, seaming and sewing in 98 ends was another story. Since the work came from seven different knitters, it was an interesting challenge to get everything reasonably matched up. I tried several methods of seaming, finally settling on a simple mattress-style stitch. Every time I thought I was done with ends, there were more right around the corner. I was even sewing in ends this morning on my way into work where I handed it off to our resident crochet expert to create a border. The photos? Took those on the bus, too. Here's another shot complete with grafitti:

Wow, it looks great! I know I was going to go on a yarn diet, but school is so annoying, I feel the need to constantly reward myself for doing work. Got some Webs superwash merino. May go to purlescence this weekend if I get all my work done.

The blanket is fantastic. I really like the bright colors. Where are you on the WIP list. I think we need an update.
