With the molasses pace that I have been posting, it will come as no surprise that I am posting about something I finished making 6 weeks ago. It wasn’t even one of those where I have finished it, except for the seaming or weaving the ends in or blocking. All of those things were done sometime in July. I have even been wearing it regularly since I made it. I just haven’t been taking pictures of it or blogging about it.
Now that summer is ending and no one will need to wear something like this again, I present you with the Lotus Blossom Tank:
Specs
Pattern: LBT, Sharon Shoji, Spring IK
Yarn: SWYC Bamboo in Tequila
Gauge and Needles: ?? (Like I said: six weeks ago)
Modifications: I loved this top from the get-go, but could never understand why the hell there was that weird seam running across the model’s boob! Maybe it was just a bad fit? From all accounts on the Knit-Along it was supposed to be there. So, I added another inch or so after the seam line to keep it under the bust. I also added another pattern repeat to prevent it from being so cropped. In the end I didn’t need the fifth repeat, but I don’t mind it.
I loved this pattern and especially loved the yarn. I had heard rumors of its splitty-ness, however I had no problem with splitting. I find the yarn to be soft and drapey with a wonderful sheen. I have been wearing this top every chance I get (read: the sun is out? I think I’ll wear Lotus Blossom!). The only drawback has been that the open lacework has snagged a few times on little grabby things that I have walked by or been futzing with, fortunately it pulls back into shape rather easily.
It’s a great knit with interesting strap construction. Before you know it, it will be spring again!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again- What an awesome top! I'm newly inspired (again) to start one for myself. Hurrah!

You never know -- we could still have some warms days to come! It looks great, and I really like the modification you made to the seam. I don't understand the seam/boob bisection thing either.

Pretty! And the colours really suit you -- they look especially great with your HAIR, actually! :)

Ha Ha! I got to see this way earlier! Still looks great on you. And of course its the perfect color for our Indian Summer out here. I predict you will have at least a few more chances to wear it. :)

Really beautiful. The shape is very flattering; it's got great boob coverage and nice peek-a-boo lace.

Very nicely done - it fits you well! Just wondering - it looks like you used the Bamboo Tequila - Did you have to alternate two skeins to prevent striping, or did you knit from one skein at a time? Thanks!!

You know, I never noticed the alien heads until I listened to the podcast. And now they stare at me. hahaha! Your LBT is beautiful and you inspire me to want to make one, too. I like that it looks like it would provide good bra coverage...

Interweave has removed the pattern for this. Does anyone have a copy to share?
