So, is it any surprise that my two favorite geeky smart freshman girls have the last name Rosenberg? Didn't think so.
OK. Knitting updates! First up, I have been wearing it so much that I have forgotten to post photos of the Mini-Sweater/Not-in-my-case-Boob-Holder.This comes, of course, from Steph's pattern and knits like a dream once one has actually gotten gauge.
The specs
Yarn: Manos del Uruguay #613, 2.5 skeins
Gauge: 13 stitches/4inches
Needles: US 10.5
I love, love, love, this sweater and get compliments right and left whenever I wear it. Like many others, I have yet to add the picot edging. The only thing that I would change is that I would attempt to make it a little smaller around the bottom. That aside, I love it just the way it is.
Now, for the Fiber Trends clogs for my mom in three photos:
Unfelted
Felted
With soles
The specs
Yarn: Paton's Classic Merino, Leaf Green (just over two balls for the smallest size slipper)
Gauge: Feltable gauge
Needles: US 11s
I made these earlier this year for my dad, so I thought in interest of parity I would make some for my mom, too. The one thing I noticed is that I have become a faster and more knowledgeable knitter in the last nine months. I understood the rhythm of the pattern much better this time around allowing me to knit and sew a slipper in about 3 hours/each. The first pair took nearly a week for the first and not much less for the second. Now, I want to make a pair for Mr., Mr.'s mom, and my step-dad for Christmas. Just those, a scarf, a poncho, a pair of socks (also for Mr.) and possibly something for my bro and his bride-to-be also for Xmas. That's all.
OK, maybe not.

I love your mini-sweater/NIMCBH! And those clogs are really lovely. And leaf green! I'm going to have to felt something one of these days. (The map is a great background, too.)

Those are great slippers. I once took three months to knit half a slipper. Isn't it a wonder I didn't stick with knitting?

I love the picture of your clogs. I'm just finishing the first one. Mine are green, too --Cascade 220. I posted a link to yours to show folks what I'm hoping to achieve. I hope that's okay! Hopefully, I'll have my own "before and after shots" in another week or so.
Carpe acum! (Sieze the needle!)
